Q): Who is The Thrifty Peanut?
A): The Thrifty Peanut is a family owned & operated online and in-warehouse book & media store.
Q): Do you sell peanuts?
A): No. Peanut is my nickname given to me by my husband many years ago. For more on the history of my little business and how I got this name, please visit our "contact us" page.
Q): What, exactly, do you sell?
A): We specialize in selling books, videos, software, and video games in the online market, but we also sell just about any kind of book or media item through our book & media warehouse, located in Bossier City and Shreveport, Louisiana.
Q): How much do you pay for book or media items?
A): This is almost impossible to answer without first seeing the items you have. There are many factors that go into our decision of how much to pay for each particular item, whether it's books, videos, games, or any other type of media. As a general rule, college textbooks need to be current (within the last couple of years); all books should be in over-all good to excellent condition - obviously if the spines are good & tight, clean pages (no tears, no creases), these books will be worth a little more than ones that are worn; audio CD's and video games (or anything that has a CD or DVD to it needs to be in good, playable condition, and have the original box/case with it. In some cases, we can buff out or clean CD's and DVD's, but as a general rule, the better the condition, the more they're worth... It's important to note here that we DO NOT pay cash for everything, but what we cannot offer cash on, we can offer trade on...
Q): What type of items do you sell in your warehouse?
A): Just about any kind of book, video, or audio you could possibly want, we either have it, or we can find it for you. If you don't find what you're looking for here, just ask us to find it & order it for you. All custom ordered items have to be paid for up-front - when your item comes in, we call you that day, and you can drop by and pick it up anytime! In most cases, we can even save you money on special items like this by finding them either used or new and offering you a choice between the two... Most of the book & media items we sell in our warehouse are marked BELOW $5 for used items, and our new items are marked WAY BELOW what you would find them in an ordinary retail store!

A): The Thrifty Peanut has over NINE YEARS of experience and solid, consistent growth in the online book & media business. We currently operate TWO bookstores in the Shreveport/Bossier area, and have plans for more stores in the near future. We have experience in marketing the items we sell, as well as an esteemed reputation in the markets we sell through. We currently sell book & media items on consignment for several libraries (both small and large ones), as well as numerous non-profit organizations, and that number is constantly growing.
